This is a beautiful study Oil on Paper of the Orthodox Cathedral build 1890s, when immigrants from Eastern Europe immigrated to Canada. Many were working for the railways, coal mines and lumbering, but the majority were preparing to settle on the land as farmers. Edmonton was the major stopping-place for people as they arrived by various means from the east, and some of them did remain in the city itself.
This Piece measures 40x58cm and not mounted on a frame.
